Hi folks,
A position has become available unexpectedly in my lab for a graduate
student to work with me on a project to investigate the role of horizontal
gene transfer in prokaryotes.
The ideal student would either be a first-class graduate computer scientist
with some knowledge of molecular biology or a molecular/evolutionary
biologist with some knowledge and interest in computing.
The project is funded by Science Foundation Ireland to work at the National
University of Ireland Maynooth. The students fees are paid if the student
is from the European Union. Students from outside the EU might be required
to top-up the fees from their own funds. Additionally, the student will be
paid 17,000 Euro p.a., increasing by 3.125% annually.
More information on what we do in our lab can be found in our website:

Interested students should contact me directly.
Best,
James.
