I've added some custom genes (by filling gene, transcript and exon related tables) and can see the genes in the 'Overview' on the contigview page but not in the 'Detailed' view. Any ideas?

Hello,
I have added oligo data to the dna_align_feature table in a local copy of Ensembl. Now would like to customize the display of the individual features in the Contig view based on their 'score'. I am able to customize the colour of the entire Track but not the individual features within that Track. Has anyone done this before?

how do i go about getting a biotechnology/bioinformatics internship in a company?i have a Masters in Bioinformatics and have a Bachelors degree in Biotechnology,however no work experience at all!!and having a bit of a hard time finding work on the job sites!any advice at all would be appreciated,thanks!

I will be completing my B.Tech (Bachelors of Technology) degree in Bioinformatics in August this year (2008). I have done an independent project work where I tried to work on studying intramoleular signaling pathways of allosteric proteins with the Anisotropic Thermal Diffusion method (Agard group) using CHARMM.
I am interested in doing PhD in Europe, preferably in countries- Slovenia, Germany, Austria. I am targeting the year 2009 and 2008 (if application deadlines are not yet over).
Can anyone please guide/ suggest me regarding this.
I also have great confusion regarding if one can go for a doctoral degree after completion of BTech (4years) or if a MS is compulsory. I am asking this as in USA one can apply for PhD directly after 12+4 years of studying, what is the requirements in Europe? I am not clear about this looking at the university or institutes' sites.

Does anyone know how best to merge multiple mzXML files into one? I have multiple mzXML files (from tandem mass spec.) that all pertain to that same experiment - I'd like to merge them into one for ease of submission to a peptide identification analysis pipeline.
